  At Lewis Family Farm, our commitment to quality extends from the pasture to your plate. Our unique process of raising beef for farm-to-table sales goes beyond delivering delicious cuts – it's a complete journey that begins with animal husbandry and ends with the delivery of prime-grade beef to you, our customer. From the beginning, our goal has been to deliver the best local beef to customers and to use every part of the animal to produce a range of artisanal products.


  We take great pride in producing high-quality beef through ethical, sustainable farming practices.  Our cattle are raised on our farm, where we manage every stage of their growth. They spend their lives with access to open pasture, clean water, and a balanced diet.  As the animal matures, we add in a carefully developed blend of grains and minerals to support a proper finish and marbling. We do not use added hormones, steroids, or routine antibiotics in animals selected for harvest. We believe that good management, low-stress handling, and steady nutrition produce better cattle — and better beef.

The animals we select to harvest for beef never receive any hormones, steroids, or antibiotics. Using a sustainable farming practice model, we minimize the negative impact on the environment while also promoting the long-term health and sustainability of our land and animals. 

Farm-Raised Wagyu/Angus Beef

   

 Lewis Family Farm is a family-run operation based in Appomattox, Virginia, where we focus on raising our cattle with care, consistency, and attention to detail. Our goal is simple: produce beef that stands out for its flavor, tenderness, and quality — while keeping our standards high from start to finish.


 By crossing Wagyu and Angus genetics, we aim to bring together the best of both breeds. Wagyu contributes exceptional marbling and tenderness, while Angus offers strong beef flavor and dependable performance. The result is beef that delivers rich texture and deep taste without the extreme price tag often associated with full-blood Wagyu. It’s premium-quality beef raised locally and handled responsibly.


 At Lewis Family Farm, we take pride in staying closely involved in the entire process — from breeding and raising the cattle to selecting the animals at the right time for harvest. We believe transparency matters. When you purchase beef from us, you are not buying from an anonymous supply chain. You are supporting a local farm that stands behind its product and values quality, responsible animal care, and thoughtful stewardship of the land.


Our aim is not just to sell beef, but to build long-term relationships with customers who appreciate knowing their farmer and understanding how their food is raised.


Farm-Raised Wagyu/Angus Beef

 We offer our beef in quarter (1/4), half (1/2), and whole shares, allowing families to stock their freezers based on your needs.  Each share includes a curated mix of steaks, roasts, ground beef, and specialty cuts that are not always easy to find at a typical grocery store.  For customers who know exactly what they want, you can often request specific cuts, making the purchase more personal and tailored to  your preference. 


All of our beef is professionally processed, vacuum sealed, and flash frozen to lock in freshness and flavor. This packaging makes it easy to organize, store, and use throughout the year.   Whether you’re putting together an easy weeknight dinner or trying something new in the kitchen, keeping your freezer stocked with farm-raised beef means dependable meals, real value for your money, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing exactly how and where your food was raised.
